This is very informative!! I am currently trying to train my cardiac alert service dog in training to detect my low blood pressure and low heart rate but didn’t know how to train him. Thank you for posting this!!
Your dogs are so pretty❤
Ego and level of self importance through the roof
How? I spend my money.. to volunteer and use my gas and my vehicle.. to help other people get service dogs via a service dog program. And driving over state lines. Because none of this is local pickup. Actually. You’re right. I’m pretty amazing.
@@ServiceDogPaws toxic
@@Liam-lw9hq says the one commenting on a video being toxic. You’re just mad your opinion doesn’t affect me. Are you even doing something to try to help others and make a difference? Or sitting in a room typing on a phone watching the world go by? Sounds like quite the life. Lol
@@ServiceDogPaws To be honest, I’m just fascinated by the giant ego and belittling attitude trying to put people down. It’s incredible that you can’t see it. Anyway I’m done with you. What an absolute waste of energy you are.
The dog barking at the service animal is indeed very wrong. The owner should NOT have brought her into the store. It is incredibly dangerous of her. HOWEVER, a pet being in the store that is not causing issues or barking/growling/etc. should not be distracting to a trained service animal. Service animals are tasked to ignore distractions. Of course, barking and antagonizing people/dogs should NOT BE ALLOWED in these areas, and yes that dog was not supposed to be in this particular store, but again I think that this particular situation was a bit of an overreaction. My SDiT is currently in the focus/distraction phases of training and he is trained to ignore these particular distractions in the real world. To summarize: No that dog and owner should NOT have been there. The dog barking was definitely a confirmation of that. But a service dog should be trained to ignore/avoid these encounters. EDIT: To ALL owners in these situations, it is NOT the dog's fault. It is the owners. Do NOT blame the dog directly. Blame the owner.
I hate that fake service dogs make our real service Dogs look so bad.
So I actually have a video of it but there was a fake service dog in the CVS I couldn’t leave for 20min Put me through a seizure which is “fantastic” Please people RESPECT THE VEST
I’m so excited I’ll be getting my lab prospect in the next year or two. I think somethign that’s not talked about enough is how to process the transition between one service dog to another.
At this point I would call the ADA and sue bc this is ridiculous and this against the law and them surrounding you is ridiculous I would give a big fat sue
😯😯😯
ive tried to breed my betta fish but it has never worked. my dream is to have little baby fishes!❤
is there a difference in PA with service dogs and service dog in training? where can service dogs go that SDIT cant? also just had someone call to my service dog and snap to get her attention. she didnt even glance at him😂 nice try though!🤣
Yes! So it’s completely dependent on the state you live in. Federal law is what protects and grants access to trained Service Dogs. But it is up to the state, to give access rights to in training service dogs. If you live in a state where they do not grant in training dogs access, you would not be able to work that dog in public until it was fully trained. I live in Alabama. And we have state laws protecting the access rights of service dogs in training.
@@ServiceDogPaws thank you so much!❤️
Dame I am srry u went thru that
this made me cry omg some people are just .... t r a s h
Guide and Mobility dogs are also a type of service dog so no it’s not just medical alert and psychiatric. I have a Guide dog in training. I don’t like people trying to touch my assistance dog.
I truly hope you get the REAL help you need. You need so much more than a service dog, and the process should not be posted on youtube. good luck!
The process should be posted. As it has been. There are thousands of others that suffer from the same medical conditions. Videos like mine help them not feel alone. Thanks for improving my algorithm and commenting.❤️ If you don’t like it, why would you help me by commenting? 🤭 You can choose to ignore and watch. But the more you watch, the more you comment, it just helps me in the end.❤️ I’ve had the best of luck with my videos on RUclips. So thank you.🥰
You’re cutting out so much it’s hard to hear what’s being said.
I have a Guide Dog in training and have had multiple people bother me and my Guide Dog in training including ass wholes that let their dogs near her distracting her.
I have a Guide Dog in training we have have had multiple people bother us or prevent Angel from focusing on me and her job. It’s really annoying.
Also if it’s obvious on the the vest or harness they can’t ask questions , I have a Guide Dog in training the amount of people who have given us is access issues is absolutely annoying.. Even when I gave the ADA law cards , believe me I completely understand how irritating it is to deal with un educated , entitled individuals like him. An example is a Guide Dog or Guide Dog in training the harness they wear makes it obvious what their job is.
Why are you training in the store?
They learn how to behave in stores and in public by being in stores. They just have to remain under control.
what the time stamp of the lady pushing you? i cant find it…
So sorry that service dogs and people that own them go through this problem. I agree with you 100%. This should be unacceptable. I'm happy you record what you go through with very inconsiderate people. And you are correct that can definitely distract your service dog from you , especially when you need their complete attention.
What program so you go through?
As someone who has trained detector dogs for over 30 years. you have no clue what you are doing and should not be teaching this.
She’s 4 1/2 now. She is a cardiac alert service dog. She graduated from an actual service dog program 2 years ago. Her cardiac alerts are more accurate than my Apple Watch. This exact training, worked for her. And other dogs who were being scent trained. I’m aware that there are different methods to teaching this. I trained my own cardiac alert service dog. Why does that seem to be such a problem? You could have looked at how old this was. And looked at updated stuff to figure out that this was successful. For us. Have a great day and let’s stop trying to gate keep in the dog community. There are different ways to train. There is never only way. And different trainers will always have different methods. It worked. If you had any advice 4 years ago we could have benefited from to make the process easier that would have been great. But this did work for my high heart rate, and she does alert to it.❤️ have a good day. Also, this is not to say that I’m not open to learning new ways. I would have loved guidance when this was being done. But I had to figure it out the best way I could.
@@ServiceDogPaws yes and their certifications for the scent detection part are not nearly enough to produce a truly efficient and accurate dog.
@@legacyntd she’s not a scent detection dog who’s gone through certification to do so. She only does medical alerts for me. She was trained for my high heart rate and blood sugar. She’s even more accurate and faster than my continuous glucose monitor. I know the training for scent detection working dogs is completely different. Search & rescue/drug dogs ect. This did work for what we needed it for. And it’s worked for other service dog handlers. I’m not needing her to detect all these different smells out and about. She just needs to detect my chemical changes in my body. Which she does.
individual's who start a comment with "Trained detector dogs for over 30 years." are usually set in their ways and not able to acknowledge new and in most cases, better training methods. Learn to grow and give positive feedback. Not all animals are the same, not all trainers are the same. Different methods for different services. You could have added some helpful advice that you have learned through your experiences to positively impact future service dogs rather than trashing someone trying to better their future. Just food for thought.

Unfortunately it's civil and not criminal
I work at Walmart and deal with this with my service dog 🐕🦺 as well even had a lady corner us In the bathroom being a Karen because I had her in the store . But it has gotten a little better in my city where I live since more children take a service dogs to school more awareness is happening so parents are teaching their children how to behave and not to react to service dogs .
Glad to see you and your pup are both doing well. Take care 👍🏼
I have flipped on a few people because they were stalking me and my service dog and or were trying to actively distract my service dog (like trying to call her over to them, trying to touch her, etc...). One guy legit was half chasing us down at an event just to try and take pics of my service dog, and I had to report him to the event security staff cause he wouldn't leave us alone.
Yup! I have anxiety, but I don’t mind if people look at me and my dog. Some days I just want to be left alone, but most of the time I don’t really care. Like I’d prefer if they didn’t stare because it can distract my dog, but it doesn’t make me nervous necessarily. Now, I HATE big crowds, loud noises. But that’s because I have sensory issues. Not because of my anxiety.
I'm so sorry you were followed by some creep while out with the family. I agree with you about the Bear 100%
I love you! 💜💜💙💙

I’d feel super uncomfortable breeding any female prior to 2.5 years old….. there’s lots of veterinary experts that advise waiting until then. I know you have no say in her breeding future because she’s not your dog. Wishing you and her the best of luck with her training! ❤
In one year she just goes for preliminary health testing. That doesn’t mean breeding starts. She has to have OFA’s too. We will just know in a year if she’s more likely to pass for breeding, and if not, if she has potential as a service dog, she can go to another trainer with the program to finish out training. Now I don’t know when exactly breeding starts. And like you said I have no control. But I do trust that the program puts the dogs first and doesn’t breed them until they are ready. I would guess it’ll be around 2. But I don’t actually know. Step one for now is making it a year for preliminary health testing. If she passes, she’s ours to keep. ❤️❤️ if she goes off to be a service dog, we will lose her. But it’s my choice. And I would rather her be a service dog if she can be, if she can’t be a breeder. But thank you! ❤️
yay! me and my sdit maggie are so excited to see her on the channel
😊
This is insane. How easily people forget the past. Pits were americas number 1 family dog for a long time, it's one of the reasons why one was chosen to be pete in the little rascals. They were never aggressive back when they had loving owners! Once dog fighting, and having a mean dog, for whatever reason, became popular waa the moment people started abusing dogs to make them aggressive. It was never about the breed, it was about the owners. I've been taking in abused pits for a long time now, they suffer from extreme ptsd, but they are sweet, and all they ever wanted was to be sweet and love their people. They didn't choose to be put thru the abuse or have it take a permanent toll on their mental health, and yes some dogs suffer from ptsd more than others. Some dogs may make a full turnaround after being abused once they get the love they need, pits can too, but the anxiety may never leave them, but they are the biggest targets. We need to educate people, educate new owners, stop inexperienced dog owners from getting an abused pit before learning about them, or if they don't want to learn they can get a puppy with no abusive past. I've explained this and taught many people over the years and none have ever had problems. We even still see some form of using them for looks when families cut their ears and tail tho. They make excuses for it, but it in no way does anything to help the dog, you're just mutilating them. Whats being done is horrible. We make all sorts of passes for humans with trauma, but make none for man's best friend. Why? Because the people who hate pits are the loudest, they typically don't like dogs to begin with, yet they get to make the rules for which dogs get killed and which don't? Fuck that. We need to be louder than them.
I think they mean, can they refuse to be kicked out after entering, like for bad behavior. Im sure you could. Say someone with a service dog is at a bar and starts acting like an ass and upsetting people after they have already been cut off. In that case, obviously, you could kick the service dog owner out. People still have to behave a certain way in public, or they could be asked to leave, i think that's what the question meant to say.
Exactly. If the service dog is not behaving appropriately, it can be legally kicked out of the establishment. They only have public access rights into businesses due to their training and ability to “be seen and not heard”.
@ServiceDogPaws oh i meant if the person was not behaving appropriately lmao. If the service dog isn't behaving right, but it's still being trained, how do you explain that to an establishment? Or is does the service dog only have public access rights once it's fully trained and able to be calm in public?? I would imagine they would have to be around people to be trained not to notice them, right?
@kL-vs6wz so some states give service dogs in training access rights. My state does. And it’s how I trained my current service dog & retired service dog. And I currently have a program puppy I’m training. So basically, if I go inside with a dog in training, the dog is still expected to behave. Let’s say, my new puppy who’s 13 weeks old, goes into her first store in a couple of months. Let’s say something spooks her and she barks. Her barking once would be okay, IF she recovered and was able to get “back under control”. Now if she continued to bark, and I couldn’t regain that control, it would be a wise decision for me to leave on my own before I’m removed. lol. There’s room for error as mistakes happen. It comes down to being able to regain that control. And yes. They can kick a person out. They just can’t say it has anything to do with the service dog.
Must be hard faking for so many years. I do believe you have an illness: mental illness.
I have a service dog. But I’m working toward him to also become a therapy dog. Unfortunately I don’t know much about therapy dog requirements! We’ll be taking a therapy training six week class. We’d get a training certificate, but are therapy dogs required to take a test and get an actual legal certificate too? And how do I go about taking my (once passed) therapy dog to assist others?
If you are working with a therapy organization, they will take you through training and you’ll get a certificate. They go to preapproved places typically as a group. I know our therapy organization near us wouldn’t let us apply for Mya (my older brown service dog) to be a therapy dog while she is still working as a service dog. They love her. But it’s against their policy. Which makes sense. The moment she retires from being a service dog she can train as a therapy dog.
The one thing you don’t have to give/answer, are the service papers. I forgot the name 😨

the twisted leash gave me anxiety but that is a good puppy!!!
Yeah well. Walking one handed while recording and walking a puppy who doesn’t know how to walk makes things complicated. Luckily I’m experienced enough. It wasn’t for long. Just one handed complications.😂 But she is a very calm & sweet pup.
Yes ma'am she is calm
Hey first of all wanted to say I love your content! I wanted to ask you some questions about idk if you want to call it a service animal or esa that’s kinda what I asking you but I have panic attacks and anxiety and depression and I see a psychiatrist for it so I have all the right stuff to prove that I struggle with things and I have loved dogs and wanted one for my panic attacks for the future but I respect people like you who could die if you don’t have your dogs. So I want to do it respectfully but I just wanted to know a how I can and if I can get a certified dog where I can take places and what would be the rules for it. Like if they are allowed the same places service annals are or if they are still considered esa.
And also where are the places I need to go to get started with the process because I plan to train the dog on my own due to money issues so I have done plenty of research and watched so many videos
There’s no “certification” stay away from online scam websites that advertise registration and certification. In the US, almost anyone can benefit from an ESA. The don’t have public access into no pet stores. But they can live in no pet housing/no pet fee. Note from your psych. Service dogs can be trained to assist with anxiety. But they bring a lot of anxiety. Access issues/pets in stores etc. they do about 2 years of training. Basic obedience. Public access training. Task training etc. You can owner train but you have to meet all the same requirements for service dog training.
Ok so for my panic attacks if I get a dog it won’t be considered a service dog it would still be an emotional support animal even if I task train it for dpt and to stop me from picking at myself and hurting myself
@@AshlynAmbrose If your dog is task trained to help with your anxiety then it would be considered a Service Dog. BUT the dog HAS to go through all the required training. Basic obedience. Public access training. Task training etc. If you have no experience with proper training then seek help from a professional trainer.
@@AshlynAmbrose look emotional support animals have been trained to task and help from home. Some people only need that. A task trained emotional support animal isn’t the same as a task trained service dog. But if it helps you at home, and that’s what you need then go for jt

Cute Doggy!
I was leaving a Target store once when I felt a canine snout exploring my butt. I said to my husband, "Ah! Another fake service dog."
I mean.. mistakes happen… but I personally wouldn’t allow my dog, any dog, to sniff someone’s butt. Let alone a service dog. But that’s just me. 😅 Our program we are in would also probably advise against allowing that behavior.
